Elisabeth Batista, member of the Committee of the Young Bar Association of Barcelona ('GAJ Barcelona') has been appointed as Executive Officer to EYBA

On the 29th of June took place the Annual General Meeting of the EYBA (European Young Bar Association) with the purpose of electing the new Board of Directors which will manage the Association until next June 2014. This non-profit association represents the interests of more than 200,000 lawyers all over Europe and provides the opportunity to become a member as an individual lawyer, as a Bar Association of Lawyers from a European city or country and even as an Associate Member in case of individual lawyers or Bar Associations of Lawyers from outside Europe.

One of the candidates for the position of  'Executive Officer' was the lawyer Elisabeth Batista, member of the current Committee of the Young Bar Association of Barcelona for the third consecutive year. The Young Bar Association of Barcelona considered her to be the perfect candidate in order to represent the interests of the young lawyers of Barcelona and because her CV fits for this purpose.

Although there is much work to do, the main objectives of the Young Bar Association of Barcelona within the EYBA will be to promote and publicize more the Association, to increase its number of members, to encourage our members to participate in the events organized by the EYBA and, especially, to increase networking among our young lawyers of Barcelona and the lawyers of the EYBA through the creation of a subgroup of international lawyers within the Linkedin’s profile of the Young Bar Association of Barcelona.

Such subgroup should become the first tool to support any foreign young lawyers in order to solve any legal queries regarding the Spanish or Catalan law or logistics.
