Lawyerex

The Barcelona Bar Association participates as a partner in the LAWYEREX Project, which aims to exchange lawyers between countries of the European Union (EU) for professional practice for a period of two weeks under the supervision of a tutor.

Thus, the European Commission has approved the financing of the LAWYEREX project which continues the first European training exchange program for lawyers, the MULTILAW project which allowed the sending of 20 lawyers to different European countries and the reception of 20 lawyers from Europe.

In this new call, a total of six exchange periods are planned: from September 2022 to January 2023, from February to June 2023, from September 2023 to January 2024, from February to June 2024, from September to December 2024 and, finally, from January to April 2025. In each of the phases three lawyers will be sent and three lawyers will be received from Europe.

In total, eighteen members from Barcelona will be able to travel to France (Paris), Greece (Athens), Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Cyprus, Italy or Romania. In addition, the possibility of twelve more lawyers traveling to Barcelona to do internships in law firms in the city is contemplated. Exchanges are at no cost for the receiving institutions.

The expenses are partially subsidized by the European Commission. For participants, travel expenses will be reimbursed up to €400 euros. Accommodation and living expenses will amount to €100 per day, with a total of €1.400 for the two-week period.
